Studio Monitors For Gaming

Is this a good gaming build PC based from the Dell Studio XPS 7100?

My parents are purchasing a PC for me when I graduate from middle school. I have a $1500 Budget (MAX, including shipping, taxes and such) and have customized this computer with a final price after taxes, shipping and warranty of $1413.44 CAD. Also, my parents would like me to choose from a PC maker and my teacher recommended Dell. Are these specs excellent for gaming? Could it max out games in 1600 x 900?(FYI, i know the RAM is only 3GB, i plan on upgrading it in the future)
