What is the best guitar amp for slam death metal?
My damn friends blew out the speaker on my Roland micro cube, so I'm looking for something better that can handle a lot of punishment, because I play slam brutal death metal which is mainly dropped, deep chord patterns and a lot of palm muting. I need an amp that can get me the distortion and gain I need and can pick up all of the notes when I speed pick.
also I like to get a nice roar and scream out of it when I do pinch harmonics.
I was thinking of just the next one up in the Roland cube series or maybe getting a spider, because I need to be able to play quiet enough in my apartment, and loud enough at my friend's house.
so mainly what I'm looking for in an amp is:
-Durability
-portability
-cheapness (under $200)
-good enough to handle punishing death metal
-able to pick up fast speed picking
-good enough gain and distortion for palm muting and pinch harmonics("squeeking" "guitar scream/roar")
I would go with a Line 6 Spider model amp. I have an older model the spider III but i have been playing tons of death metal, Melodic Metal, Grindcore everyday since I've had it and i'm never disappointed i get sick tones out of mine and they aren't too expensive to get hope this helps.
