Are there extension cables for desktop microphones?

I'm doing a web show and I need my microphone to reach to the other side of the room. Its not that big of a room, but the microphone doesn't quite reach. I can't afford a wireless mic, so I was curious if they make extenders or extensions?

Yes, there are extensions. You can get one at your local radioshack store. It would be wise to take it with you just to make sure the guy at the Shack doesn't give you the wrong cable, but what you need is a cable that has a female mini on one side, and a male mini on the other side. (This is assuming that your mic is being plugged into the mini jack on the back of your sound card on your computer). Anyway..as long as you know what size adapter you are plugging into your computer, the radioshack person should be able to get you the right cable extension. If you don't have a radioshack nearby, you can order an extension from a place like www.newegg.com.
