Logic Studio vs Protools.........Discuss?

I am going to go headfirst into one of these applications very soon, mostly for Home Studio type work on a Mac. I don't know which one would be better.

They're both good for professional level audio application. It depends mainly on which one fits your workflow and budget best. Just make sure your AD/DA converters are top notch and either app will fit the bill.
