Logic Express Midi Out

Can you help me with MIDI recording?

I have a keyboard, apple logic express 7 (software), and a cord that goes from the keyboard's MIDI in and out to a box in the middle of the cord to a usb connector. I want to know how to use my keyboard with MIDI. Can you breifly explain MIDI and how it works?

Plug the usb into your comp.Pick an instrument and start playing.turn down the volume on your keyboard and volume upon your comp.Press record and your track will pick up the notes you play then you can go bck and change the instrument and the same notes will play in a new instrument..I think.
